Vanilla Cupcakes with Naturally Colored Frosting

Ingredients for Cupcakes:

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk


Ingredients for Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • Colour Nature powders (red, blue, green, yellow, pink)


Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the batter.
  • Fill cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool completely.
  • For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then milk to reach desired consistency.
  • Divide frosting into batches and color each with a different Colour Nature powder.
  • Decorate cooled cupcakes with the colored frosting.
