The addition of Colour Nature’s plant-based powders allows you to customize your lipstick shade, offering a range of colors from subtle pinks to bold reds. Ideal for those who love to add a touch of personal flair to their beauty routine, this natural lipstick ensures you can wear your favorite colors without compromising on health and sustainability.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon beeswax pellets (for structure)
  • 1 teaspoon shea butter or cocoa butter (for moisture and smoothness)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (for hydration)
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond oil or jojoba oil (for additional nourishment)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Colour Nature powder (choose your preferred color, such as red or pink)
  • Optional: a few drops of essential oil for scent (like peppermint or vanilla)

Equipment Needed:

  • Double boiler or a small heat-proof bowl over a pot of simmering water
  • Small lipstick molds or clean, empty lip balm tubes
  • Stirring tool (like a small spatula or spoon)
  • Pipette or small funnel (for transferring the mixture into tubes)

Directions:

  1. Melt the Base Ingredients: In the double boiler, gently melt the beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, and almond oil together. Stir continuously until they are completely melted and well blended.

  2. Add Color: Remove the mixture from heat. Mix in the Colour Nature powder until the color is even and no clumps remain. The amount of powder can be adjusted depending on the desired shade intensity.

  3. Add Scent (Optional): If using, add a few drops of your chosen essential oil to the mixture and stir well.

  4. Pour into Molds or Tubes: Use a pipette or a small funnel to carefully transfer the liquid lipstick into your molds or tubes. If using molds, you can chill them in the refrigerator to help the lipstick solidify faster.

  5. Let it Set: Allow the lipstick to cool and solidify completely. This could take several hours, especially if at room temperature. In the fridge, this process can be quicker.

  6. Unmold and Use: Once the lipstick has set, gently remove it from the molds, or if using tubes, twist up and apply.

Tips for Perfect Lipstick:

  • Texture Adjustments: If the lipstick is too hard, add more coconut oil. If it’s too soft, add a bit more beeswax.
  • Color Testing: Test the color on your lips, as it may look different on skin than in the mixture.
  • Safe Handling: Be cautious when handling the hot mixture and when pouring it into molds or tubes.
  • Shelf Life: Natural lipstick should be used within 6-12 months. Store in a cool, dry place.

Note on Coloring
: The Colour Nature powders are natural, so the color payoff may be more subtle than synthetic dyes. You can experiment with combining colors to create custom shades.
