Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Colour Nature powder for desired color (e.g., berry for pink, spirulina for green)

Equipment Needed:

  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Ice cream maker
  • Freezer-safe container

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk, cream, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Once the mixture is hot (not boiling), remove from heat and add vanilla extract and Colour Nature powder. Stir until the color is well incorporated.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until completely cool.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Transfer the gelato to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm.

Tips:

  • For fruit-flavored gelato, you can puree fresh fruits and add them to the base before churning.
  • Experiment with different Colour Nature powders to create a variety of flavors and colors.
